The gift

April 8th, 2006

Ok. I think I’m going to have to say that where I work is awesome. For Friday, in exchange for helping out on some stuff over winter break, I and others each received a black iPod nano. I am very grateful for this, because I could never justify getting one of these things for myself given the price and my relative lack of cash.

And to think that most grad students I know don’t even like their advisors. I would like my advisor(s) even if they hadn’t given me this. (and I’m not just writing that for the inevitable day when they stumble across this here blog) I don’t usually post stuff about school (which I refer to alternately as work, or the place I like to be) here, but this crosses over from hardcore science to cool gesture.

Ok, so now people can go look up how many times I’ve used the term iPoedophile and other such terms and can call me a hypocrite.

  5. D.G. yep, isn’t it nice how I still make fun of your ipod mini. So… touché.

Robyn Indeed it is awesome… supposedly a MacBook is next. Of course, you realize graduate students are cheap labor, so I’m still a deal for them.

Mom, as you would say, your comments are a hoot and no they don’t embarass me. The fact that you don’t know what an iPod is, though, is a true testament to how you are out of touch with the right stuff to be out of touch with and in touch with the important things in life.

mdpdb. yeah… muahaha… wait till I get hit on my bike while trying to fast forward from something shuffle picked.
