Jamestown time.

Heading out to Jamestown, NY for a weekend of relaxation and reminiscing or something. It will be good to be in a place that is 20 degrees colder for a bit. It will wake me up.

It seems like flock is a nice application for blogging / surfing.  The question is, I really do agree that the web is a “total, total, total waste of time”

In an effort to make this Jason Forrest track become overplayed, I am going to link it here:
War Photographer video directed by Joel Trussell. I think it is pretty neat. JF’s WFMU radio show is on summer hiatus, but his new album will be in wide release soon.

No, seriously, my new filing technique really is unstoppable

Who isn’t into filing techniques?

*crickets*

Well, I mean, I can’t say I really have a truly unstoppable filing technique. But if anyone could come up with one, wouldn’t it be the Noguchi Filing System.

I’m giving this a shot, only using hanging folders instead of cut up envelopes. We’ll see how long that lasts. Right now things look very clean. I’ve simply taken the horizontal stacks on my desk and turned them into vertical folders in a drawer. I still have my old categorized files in the rear. I have to say that I am a bit afraid that something was lost in the translation/summary offered on the page, which will translate into me missing some deadline. For the moment though, I am content.

Some bands, etc:

  • The Audience Some of my friends from western NY. Hugely good, really unbelievable, seriously.
  • Bang Sugar Bang (now on a U.S. tour, check them out for a fun time. Their drummer was pretty cool to talk to when we saw them in Long Beach.)
  • theAgriculture (ok, not a band, but a really good record label… sadly I think it will be a long time before any of their artists come to LA, but who knows. Electronica.)
