Back from NASA and Stanford

I’m back from my visit to the NASA Advanced Supercomputing Division at NASA Ames with one of the Collaboratory’s PIs and my fellow more experienced grad student. We also visited Stanford. It was good to spend so many days thinking about computing and science, but not spending much time in front of a computer. I spent more time with a legal pad and felt more productive. I need to do some good thinking about elasticity and rapid calculation of certain values in order to reduce some of our data sets to more understandable and possibly pretty information. I have many other things going on, so I suppose I will just leave it at that for now.
